Middle School at The
Anthony School maintains high academic standards and places the utmost
importance of cooperation among the administration, teachers, students,
parents, and community. The curriculum is specifically designed to challenge
Middle School students. Science, History, Language Arts, and Math are taught
daily at each grade level. Language Arts is divided into separate literature
and grammar classes. Each class incorporates composition skills within its
discipline. Teachers present material orally, visually, and kinesthetically as
often as possible. Attention is given to individual learning styles, and
accommodations for advanced learners and those who require more explanation of
concepts are made according to student needs. We have high expectations within
the bounds of each student for his/her success.
Our goal is to teach students the self-discipline required to be successful academically and socially both in school and in the broader community. As evidence of our high standards and degree of preparation, area high schools welcome graduates from The Anthony School. Several independent high schools routinely visit The Anthony School each spring to recruit our graduating students.
