COVID-19 Policy
Policy for all TAS staff and students, regardless of vaccination status
Masks are no longer required, but may be worn electively for any reason when desired.
You may view the weekly CDC COVID-19 Community Level status for recommendations on masking indoors.
Mask Mandates will only occur if there is an outbreak within the classroom or school; the ADH will determine what constitutes an outbreak for TAS.
The CDC no longer recommends quarantines, regardless of vaccination status.
If your child is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
Any child who begins experiencing upper respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms at school will be sent home until they are symptom free for 24 hours. Testing, or seeing your primary care provider, is recommended.
Staff and students should stay home when they are sick. Do not return on campus until symptom free (without the use of medication) for 24 hours.
If your child tests positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status
Stay home for 5 days after a positive test (isolation).
If experiencing no symptoms after Day 5, your child can return to campus (masked).
If running a fever after Day 5, continue to stay home until your child has been 24 hours without fever (without the use of medication).
Staff and students must continue wearing a mask through Day 10.
If your child was exposed* to someone with COVID-19
If your child has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status:
Testing is recommended on day 5 after exposure (if symptomatic).
As long as the child does not have symptoms, they can remain on campus.
If your child develops symptoms on Day 5 or later, and has a negative antigen COVID-19 test (at-home test), your child may return to campus after being fever-free for 24 hours.
*As it relates to this policy, exposure is defined as being in close contact within 2 days of someone that has been diagnosed with COVID-19 with a positive PCR test. Close contact is defined as 6 feet or closer, for a total of 15 minutes or more, unmasked.
