Mrs. Hesselbein - Fourth Grade

Welcome students and parents!

My name is April Hesselbein.  This school year will be my 25th year of teaching and my 17th year to teach at The Anthony School. I am married to a wonderful husband, Tom (we just celebrated our 40th anniversary!)  We have 2 children, Liza who is married to Coby.  They have 2 energetic, fun, active children, Keller and Asher Grace. I'm so lucky to have them living here in Little Rock. My son Bradley lives in Kutztown, Pennsylvania with his wife, Shena. They have a precious 1 year old boy, Sammy. It is very hard to have them so far away from Little Rock but I do get to see them about every 3 months. My family enjoys spending time in Hot Springs on Lake Ouachita, where my husband and I grew up.  We love boating, swimming, fishing and taking sunset cruises.
In addition to having a 4th grade homeroom, I teach science and reading to 4th graders and also teach science to 5th graders. TAS students are so excited to learn! Each school year I look forward to seeing the upcoming 5th graders and meeting the new 4th graders.  It is always a fun to observe how much growth that a beginning 4th grader makes over the 2 years that I have them in my class.  I am fortunate to teach in such a positive environment with supportive parents, co-teachers, and administrators.  I look forward to another successful school year!
