Giving Tuesday

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020, as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. It is an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in unity - to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and heal.

People can show their generosity in a variety of ways during #GivingTuesdayNow -  whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill, or giving to causes, every act of generosity counts. At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people together. Generosity gives everyone the power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on.

Our TAS Community has shared generosity:

  • TAS donated our extra wipes/gloves to UAMS
  • Several parents/teachers are sewing masks for healthcare workers
  • Many of our families are making handmade cards/art for nursing home residents

Need to find a way you can help?

  • Support our essential workers by donating supplies and staying home.
  • Help small businesses by purchasing gift cards or writing an online review.
  • Combat loneliness by reaching out to a neighbor, relative, or seniors.
  • Reach out to your local community/neighborhood to show you’re with them. Print, draw or download a #GivingTuesdayNow heart poster and put it in your window to share the message that you’re standing with them.
  • Give to organizations you love - like The Anthony School! No amount is too small. All donations given through the online form below will benefit the school's annual fund. The annual fund helps enhance the educational experience of each student.

"Magenta. I learned what the color magenta was as an Anthony third grader in 1982 while sitting at an Apple computer. As the story goes, co-founder and head of school, Mrs. Jeanne Anthony, knew then that computers were going to be important in our daily lives. I clearly remember her walking back and forth behind us, walkie talkie in hand, as we clicked on color options to create our on-screen art.

Why is my 1982 Anthony magenta moment important to the 2019-2020 Anthony you know today? Because what Mrs. Jeanne envisioned years ago is still in full swing, and it works! She envisioned wrapping solid, traditional-based academics in forward thinking, arts-rich, complementary experiences to facilitate a well-rounded child. When people ask me to explain Anthony, I say it is similar to an education received at a liberal arts college but age-appropriate.

Annual fund gifts from then until now have helped make Anthony what it is today. Any size gift is a welcome, appreciated, and wisely used gift. Please join me in making a contribution today."
