Lane Scott's 3rd Grade Page

WELCOME

Hello, I am Lane Scott and this is my 26th year in education and my 7th year at The Anthony School. I am excited to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. I'd like to take this opportunity to share a little bit about myself. I grew up here in Little Rock and chose never to leave. With my large extended family here there is always someone to hang out with and never time for boredom.  My husband, Keith and I have 2 adult children, Kaitie and Wade. Kaitie and her husband live in Benton and have a son,Lincoln. (My first grandchild.) Wade is asenior at the University of the Ozarks and is studying political science and environmental science. When I get the opportunity, I enjoy traveling. . When I have free time I am usually crafting or browsing flea markets and garage sales for some kind of wonderful treasure. Anyone that knows me will tell you that I am absolutely nuts about my fur babies. I currently have 2 chihuahuas (Romeo and Leo),  a one eyed basset, golden retriever mix (Aslan), and a cat ( Shimmer).

Third Grade Field Trips:
Parents are always welome on our field trips there are some trips that require payment for participation. All students MUST wear a red, collered, TAS shirt on all field trips. Failure to wear the appropriate shirt will keep students from attending the field trip.

October 4- We will be visiting the Toltec Mounds in Scott, AR. The bus will leave the school at 9:10 and arrive back at the school around 2:00.  Students will need to wear their red, collered TAS shirt and comfortable walking shoes. The wind blows quite a bit around the mounds so make sure that your child has a jacket. Also, each will need to bring a sack lunch. (Gift shop is open to students.)

November 7- Visiting the  Arkansas Historic Museum is always a fun trip for students. They will interact with historic characters that tell about life in the early days of Arkansas.  We will leave the school at 9:10 and arrive back at the school around 12:00. Students will need a sack lunch we will eat at school when we return. (If time permits, the gift shop is open to students.)

May 17- Students will get to enjoy the art of ballet at a Ballet Arkansas' production of Sleeping Beauty. Times will be posted closer to the performance date.
