Article: Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP)

The 7th Grade Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) identifies bright 7th graders based on standardized test scores achieved during their 5th or 6th grade year. Candidates are invited to take the ACT or the SAT college entrance exams as 7th graders which allows them greater insight into their academic abilities. In addition, they gain valuable benefits and have access to unique resources for gifted students. The following students participated this year:

Zak Bahbaz
Abby Bobo
Annie Buchanan
Olivia Chambers
Zeina El Tahawy
Hallie McGarry
Sabrina Pierce
James Quirk

Zak, Abby, Annie, Hallie, and James qualified for state recognition by scoring approximately at or above the national average of recent high school graduates on at least one part of the ACT or SAT.

Annie also qualified for grand recognition. She scored approximately at or better than 90 percent of recent high school graduates on at least one part of the ACT or SAT.

We could not be more proud; congratulations to all!
