At most independent schools, tuition covers only a portion of the cost of educating students. At the Anthony School, The Annual Fund provides the financial support that bridges the gap between our tuition income and the actual operating expense of educating each student.
The 2005-2006 Annual Fund drive was the third Annual Fund campaign. In all three years, 100% of the faculty and staff and 100% of the Board of Trustees have led the school community by making a gift, and 85% of our school families contributed last year. Annual Fund contributions have been used primarily for faculty development and to support and expand technology resources for students and faculty.
Annual Fund donations include both restricted and unrestricted gifts. Restricted donations are those dedicated by the donor for specific uses. In general, Annual Fund gifts have made it possible to plan ahead for faculty enhancements and continual renewal of up-to-date technology resources.
Endowment funds are separate from the Annual Fund. The Anthony School’s Endowment Fund is small when compared to other independent school’s endowments. This money is to be saved for the future financial stability of the school. Use of the fund is prescribed by Board policy.
