Kindergarten Music

Kindergarten is rocking in the music room!!

Kindergarten incorporates creative movement, singing, and playing rhythm instruments to enhance the study of the foundation of music.
Autumn is finally here!  It's my favorite time of the year.  We have begun singing songs about pumpkins and bats.  Songs about picking apples and raking leaves. We have learned about high/low sounds and the tempo of music.  We are talking about words with one sound and words with two sounds.  These will become the foundation of our rhythm studies for quarter and eighth notes in first grade.
We continue to listen to all kinds of music and move or dance to the beat. We are rocking it!

Welcome to Music here at the Anthony School. I am beginning my 25th year here. I love to teach music and hope to engage my students to love to learn.
I knew from an early age that music was my passion.
I received my Masters degree in Music from the University of Mississippi.

My husband, Rick, and I have 2 daughters. Sarah  lives in Fayetteville, and Laura  is a teacher here at TAS. I have 5 grandchildren, Lily(9), Hudson(8), Caroline(5), Claire(3), and Cate (2).  I love being a grandmother!!!  Lily is in the fourth grade this year, her seventh year at The Anthony School. Claire is beginning her first year here at TAS in the Pre-k 3's program.  Both of my daughters were students here at The Anthony School, also. Our family and the Anthony school have been closely connected for many years!
