We are very excited about this school year.  There will be lots to learn, see and do while we explore the wonders of being in Kindergarten.  Some of our themes include: Our Community, The Farm, Seasons, Weather, Maps, Apples, Native Americans and Pilgrims, Bats, Famous Americans, Insects, Plants and more.  Much of our learning will include hands-on activities like tasting apples and making applesauce, watching insects grow and change, planting plants and watching an egg develop and hatch.  Wonder what we will be hatching this year.  As we move through our year, watch how we change and grow.  You will be so amazed!!!

I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten again this year!!!  This will be by 9th year teaching Kindergarten at The Anthony School (TAS).  I have lived in Arkansas for the past 17 years but grew up in a small town in upstate New York.  What I miss most is the snow and cooler summers.  I earned my BSE in Early Childhood Education and a MEd. in Reading from UALR while living here in Arkansas.  I started teaching at TAS in 2008, and have taught Kindergarten, PreK-4 transition and Third Grade.  In my spare time, I help my sister on her horse farm, love to read and watch movies, try my hand at crafting and enjoy spending time with my family.  My current favorite activity is scuba diving even though I don't get to spend as much time in the water as I would like.  I know this is going to be an amazing year!

I'm super excited to be teaching Kindergarten again this year.  I have been teaching at The Anthony School off and on since 1992!!!  In the past, I have taught First grade, Third grade and Kindergarten. I have a MEd in Elementary Education from UALR and a BS in Sociology from U of A.  My free time is spent doing yoga, reading or watching sports.  I have a daugher who is 23 and enjoy spending time with her.  It's going to be a great year!!

Parents,

Below are the field trips that TAS Kindergarten will be taking this year. The fees for field trips were included in your yearly fees, so you don’t owe money for your child’s field trips!

We will be asking for drivers/chaperones for each trip, but will collect money for adult participants prior to each trip since it would be impossible for most of you to predict your schedule for the year. Please note that each field trip driver must sign a Driver Release Form to acknowledge that they are insured, licensed, and will obey traffic and safety laws. We will get those to you if/when you choose to drive. Additionally, per TAS handbook, siblings of all ages are not included on field trips. Let us know if you have questions or comments!

Thanks!
