Fifth Graders!

Under Construction!

Fifth Graders are Creating "About Me" PowerPoint Presentations

The Fifth Graders are learning to create PowerPoint presentations. The subject of our first presentations is "Me!" They've used the iSight camera and photobooth to take pictures of themselves, and we're using those pictures as backgrounds for some of our slides.

The presentations look awesome; send in a flash drive, and I'll send your child's presentation home so you can watch it with him or her(or email me at chrisn@anthonyschool.org, and I'll send it to you).

Honing our Microsoft Word Formatting Skils

The Fifth Graders are spending some of our weekly class time sharpening their text document formatting skills. We are re-familiarizing ourselves with the formatting palette, changing the margins, spacing, font, font size, background color, and inserting headers and footers.

We are also learning why it is important to name our files appropriately, how to create folders, where to save documents, and how to find things we've saved.

Ask your child to show you what they know!

Learning to Use PowerPoint and Working on Our Public Speaking Skills

The Fifth Graders are learning to use PowerPoint effectively this year. We will create several PowerPoint presentations during the year; each student will present his or her project to the class.

We will be improving our public speaking skills during these exercises as well as adding to our PowerPoint toolboxes.

Ask your children to tell you about their presentations (or ask them to show you)!
